Lake Piru Feb 25, 2012

The first tournament to kick of the 2012 Top Stick Tour season will be on Sat Feb 25th 2012, at Lake Piru.

The specific Launch ramp will be determined as the date comes near. We will also be doing check in by the main gate instead of at the ramp like the past tournaments. If you plan to sign up for membership and entry at the Feb 25th Piru tournament please arrive early. We will have the trailer parked inside the gate approximately 4:00 a.m. to start check in.

As always there will be boat inspections at the lake during the morning meeting. If you are tagged we will still do a live-well check at that time. We will have the trailer parked inside the gate which is where you will sign up for membership and entry. You will enter on the left side of the gate and park your rig in line and walk over to the trailer for sign ups and check in. We will have the trailer there approx 4 a.m. to start check in.

As of right now the lake will open the gate for us at aprox. 5:30 a.m. so we can proceed to the ramp and launch at that time. Please launch quickly and safely and stage up until we are ready to release you, if it is dark you will need to have your bow and stern lights on. We will send you out as soon as all the boats are in the water and we are ready to go.

The gate fees are 10.00 per vehicle as well as 10.00 per boat. Please read the Lake Piru boat inspections story posted under the “Tournament Info and Results” tab on the website homepage for the information about Clean and Dry at Piru. John barron has a posted video link on the right sidebar of the homepage on “What to expect” for quagga inspection.

Weigh in will be at the launch ramp where we will have the trailer set up. We hope to do a drive by weigh in like before but if traffic is too much we will be doing a walk up weigh in. Size limit will be 13in. mouth open and I will swing the tail. Off limits will be the host Launch ramp, the pump house floating that is toward the Dam as well as the buoy line at the dam. You may not cast over the buoy line at the dam.

If you see any lake staff or Park staff please thank them for there help and cooperation with this tournament. Without there cooperation we could not have this tournament at Lake Piru.

If you have any questions please contact myself or John Barron.

Good Luck and Bring me 5 Keepers,
